Bungie has begun polishing up the first true sequel of their hit game "Destiny," titled "Destiny 2." Offering a brand new experience to players, some players have wondered if they could carry their characters from the first game to the sequel, with Bungie giving a 'Yes' and a 'No'.
According to Bungie's official website, some aspects of the player's characters (called Guardians) in "Destiny" could be carried over in "Destiny 2." While powers, equipment and items would not be brought to the sequel, the personalized options like class, race, gender, hair, face and body marks will be retained under certain conditions.
For players who are interested to bring their Guardians to the upcoming game, Bungie requires several things. First, the character must be at least level 20 to progress to the next game. Second, the "Black Garden" mission must have been completed by the character to advance into "Destiny 2." As Bungie puts it, this is their way of recognizing the passion and dedication the players have given to the game. Bungie also plans to award migrating accounts with honors that would show their achievements in "Destiny."
Bungie aims to provide a clean slate for players to enjoy "Destiny 2." Removing most content from the first game will allow old and new players a fresh start on the upcoming experience.
To celebrate the upcoming sequel, Bungie is having an event for "Destiny" titled "Age of Triumph." According to Eurogamer, the event will be preceded with some live streams starting March 8, showing what the Bungie has in store for "Age of Triumph." This would also serve as the final event for "Destiny."
"Destiny" is currently available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. As for "Destiny 2", it is slated to release on September 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
