Stassi Schroeder who is noted for her role in 'Vanderpump Rules' expressed her views on the debate about racism. In her latest podcast "Straight Up With Stassi", she was joined by Stephen McGee from Bravo's "Summer House". The topic began to take roll when they talked about shocking incidents at Oscars 2017. It was her comment on people asking about racism in Oscar that strike up many critics.
Schroeder said on her podcast that she was tired of talking about racial issues. She asserted that there was no act of racism at Oscars because of mix-up winner between La La Land and Moonlight for Best Pictures. And also, she made sure that the actors managed to win the trophy for their outstanding acting on screen. At last, she believed skin color did not determine the winner and then said that #OscarsSoWhite was not applied.
It is not the main thing that is creating quite a stir. The most important thing is when Schroeder questioned her guest star Stephen why when talking about race, it is always about African-American actors. She made her remarks that it was never about Asian, Native American, or Latino Actors. African American is always the one to move forward when the issue of racism brought up, she added.
From this statement, Hollywood Life concluded that Schroeder aware there are debates about racism but does not understand the core of the problem. It means she never knew that African Americans have always been the target to be discriminated. Schroeder's comment on her podcast confirmed her ignorance for the issues being discussed.
As Blasting News reported, Schroeder received a wide range of criticism regarding this matter from "Vanderplump Rules" fans through twitter. The fans tagged her account and said that issues of racism are still important to be discussed. However, she did not seem too concerned with the response. She even opposed against some tweet that insulted her.
