Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Update: As Wedding Trouble Looms, Cyrus Bumps Into Alleged Hemsworth Fling January Jones At Met Gala

While we have been covering every new development in the relationship and potential wedding troubles of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth on the daily, it's easy to forget how this whole thing started: alleged infidelity on behalf of Liam with actress January Jones. Last night's Met Gala (with the ridiculous, bad PowerPoint presentation theme of Punk: From Chaos To Couture) was the first time the two ladies have been in the room together since the incident. Luckily, these lovely ladies didn't turn the hardcore inspired event into a slam-dancing, teeth-spitting mosh pit!

The trouble all started when Miley reportedly caught Hemsworth chatting up Jones. This led to Hemsworth jetting home to Australia and after Miley was caught without her engagement ring (at the time, a novel occurrence), the rumors began to fly about a split between the celeb couple.

After it was confirmed that Miley and Liam were still together, Miley was spotted having lunch with ex-boyfriend Nick Jonas (a claim she vehemently denied).

After this, there were reports that Liam was asking after the idea of an open relationship, something that an inside source said Miley would never agree to.

"No way in hell are they having an open relationship!  That's not the way Miley was raised, she has morals," an unnamed insider told HollywoodLife.

"She's making sure that she gives Liam his space because she doesn't want to be needy and they're still working through stuff, but there's absolutely no chance she'd agree to an open relationship," the source added.

"Miley is going through a wild phase, but she's still the same girl underneath and she really believes in true love and soul mates and it's just ridiculous to think she'd agree to that kind of arrangement!"

Then there was the news that they called their wedding off, which was reported by an insider who spoke to Life & Style.

"They were supposed to get married in June," the source told Life&Style. "But there have been so many problems with them."

"They thought it was best to work out their issues before making such a big commitment. Everyone keeps it saying it - they're too young to be getting married."

Snoop Lion later spilled the beans about a break-up between Cyrus and Hemsworth.

However, Miley stomped this rumor into the dirt in an interview with V magazine.

"I work every day. My assistant is always like, 'I don't want to hear you sing during the day unless we're at the studio, because I'm at the studio with you from 5 pm until 5 am half the time.' And it's like, I'm not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work. Every week it's 'Are they broken up? Because we don't see a photo of them.' I don't have time to go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't. I'd rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him. And then I'm at the studio all day. He gets up to work out at six and I come home at five from the studio. I put this record before everything, and I've never done that with anything. I've put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it."

Sharp readers notice that Miley said "boyfriend" twice when referring to her fiancé Liam.

Finally, yesterday the story came full circle with the news that Miley might be flirting with Lawson lead singer Adam Brown behind Liam's back.
