Nikki Reed Not Happy With Ian Somerhalder Working With Nina Dobrev After 'The Vampire Diaries'

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been fending off divorce rumors since their 2015 wedding. The couple has often been the subject of malicious claims and speculations. The latest one being that Somerhalder has made his wife jealous because of his onscreen reunion with his former girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. 

This is not the first time that the rumor of Nikki Reed being unhappy with Nina Dobrev's reunion with Ian Somerhalder has surfaced. All three have kept a tight lip on the matter. Recently, however, Reed posted a photo of the three of them, perhaps to dispel that there is really no blood bad between the couple and Dobrev.

According to US Weekly, Nikki Reed wrote in the caption that silence seemed to be the best answer to all the baseless rumors. She added that no one wants to respond to made up stories of backstabbing friends, cheating exes and cast members exiting shows that have been perpetuated by low-brow websites.

Despite this, a report said that Nikki Reed is not welcome to the idea of Ian Somerhalder working again with Nina Dobrev after “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8. There might be a possibility that the two will be joining “The Originals” Season 4. In the TVD series finale, their characters, Damon and Elena, got married but whether they lived or died is a question fans want to be answered reports TV Line.

Because of “The Vampire Diaries,” Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev became two of the most popular television stars. Their strong onscreen chemistry eventually transcended into real life, to the delight of their fans. Unfortunately, the couple called it quits in 2013, after which, Dobrev left the series. She made a comeback on the series finale which also paved the way for her onscreen reunion with Somerhalder.

To make Nikki Reed happy and keep peace in their marriage, Ian Somerhalder may choose not to join “The Originals.” However, a source thinks that working with Nina Dobrev, although not ideal given their dating history, it is still an acting job that pays. It is better than being unemployed and auditioning for parts. The discussion may be moot however since The CW has not made a renewal announcement for the series beyond its coming fourth season.
