When it comes to celebrity figures making donations, there are many names which strike our mind. Now there is one more addition to the list and this time she is none other than Selena Gomez herself. Selena Gomez, 24, has recently made a donation to support research into lupus at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. She made the donation and in this way, a fund named the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research will be established soon.
According to People magazine, she revealed that she will be optimistic about the progress being made in lupus research and she feels proud in supporting the work at Keck School of Medicine. Selena Gomez continues and reveals that she is hopeful about millions of people around the world who may get benefits from this.
In 2013, Selena Gomez was forced to cancel her tour after a rumor about her bad health and a condition affecting her immune system came to light. After some time the starlet revealed herself that she has been diagnosed with lupus, back in 2010 and since then she had kept her condition a secret.
According to Mail Online, the Lupus Foundation of America describes lupus as a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body, including skin, joints, and organs. The research program in her name at USC will focus on making progress in developing targeted therapeutic treatment breakthroughs. Selena Gomez also took treatment at a facility in Tennessee to focus on her mental health.
It has now been reported that Selena Gomez is back in the studios and is busy creating some latest music with her new love and rapper The Weeknd. We hope that Selena Gomez recovers from her rare condition soon and lives a healthy life.
