'Naruto Shippuden' 500: Series Ends With Naruto's Wedding, Characters Crosses Over Spinoff

The upcoming "Naruto Shippuden" 500 will finally see the highly-anticipated Naruto and Hinata wedding ceremony. While it will be indeed a joyous occasion for Konoha, it could be a bit of a downer for long-time fans as it will also mark the end of the long-running anime series. However, fans can take confort in the fact that "Naruto Shippuden" episode 500 does not really mean the end of Naruto and his friends' story as they are still to be featured in the upcoming spinoff.

It would indeed be a joyous event for all of Konoha, especially among Naruto and Hinata's close friends. In the upcoming "Naruto Shippuden" episode 500, all of their friends will most likely be present, according to Droid Report. Kakashi was able to make a deal with Gaara to let some of his Sand shinobis to take over the missions of Naruto's close friends so that they could be freed to attend the event.

Aside from the wedding, "Naruto Shippuden" episode 500 is predicted to feature events after the wedding itself. After the ceremony, the finale may show the birth of Naruto and Hinata's children, Boruto and Himawari. It could also briefly cover their generation becoming old and settling down. For instance, Sasuke, Naruto's friend and rival, will be pairing off with Sakura eventually producing their offspring Sarada. It would be a perfect preparation for fans' transition to the Naruto spinoff "Boruto: The Naruto Next Generation," which is already scheduled for airing next month.

This means that while "Naruto Shippuden" episode 500 closes the series, fans will still be able to peek into the lives of its characters in the coming "Boruto" series. The spinoff will feature Naruto's young son as he tries to lives up to everyone expectations of him, being the son of the great Naruto, who will become the Hokage be then. Sasuke and the rest of their friends will still be around to guide the young generation as they discover their own interpretation of what it means to become a shinobi.
