‘Game Of Thrones’ Update: Kit Harrington Gets Emotional About Letting Jon Snow Go

Kit Harrington knows that he will have to eventually come to terms with the fact that he will soon be no longer portraying the character of Jon Snow on "Game Of Thrones," a role that he has embodied for 7 years now. But like most iconic roles that launch careers, Harrington admits that he is really emotional about parting ways with Jon Snow.

Jon Snow had almost become Kit Harrington's dual personality as the character became widely loved by "Game Of Thrones" fans across the globe. But since there are only two more seasons left on the show, it is understandable that Harrington is getting teary-eyed when it comes to leaving behind the character of Jon Snow, which is dear to his heart.

"I think I've come into a place of feeling quite emotional about him, actually, knowing that I'm not going to get to go back to him after next year," Harrington told MovieFone. "I'm really trying to just take stock of having lived this sort of dual life with this character, and being through so much with this character." Nevertheless, even though the character of Jon Snow will always hold a special place in his heart, Harrington knows that he after "Game Of Thrones" is done and dusted, he needs to move on.

Since versatility is the essence of any good actor, Kit Harrington will be looking for roles in his career that does not resemble the one he currently portrays on "Game Of Thrones," Winter Is Coming reported. To get more specific, he does not want to fall back into playing "a sword-wielding hero" anymore, and instead, seeks variety. This is why he chose to play the character of a wounded cowboy in danger, Samuel, in his upcoming movie, "Brimstone."

Lastly, disappointing many hopeful "Game Of Thrones" fans, Harrington revealed that even though he fully realizes what kind of head space Jon Snow is in right now, he has no idea what's in store for his character in the final season of the show. Hence, even though he enjoys reading the various theories about the endgame online, he really has no idea what the future holds for the show.
