Kristen Stewart: Dating Robert Pattinson Helped Her Come Out Of The Closet

When news of Kristen Stewart dating Robert Pattinson hit the media a few years ago, "Twilight" fans became ecstatic. However, a lot has changed since then and not only have the popular celebrity couple broken up, but Stewart has moved on to publicly admitting that she prefers women. Recently the "Snow White And The Huntsman" actress opened up about how the experience of being romantically linked with Pattinson helped her come out of the closet.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson quickly became one of the most shipped celebrity couples back when they started dating. However, following cheating allegations and other issues, they two broke up and went their separate ways even before the last installment of the "Twilight" series hit the theaters.

Since then, Robert Pattinson has become engaged to FKA Twigs. Kristen Stewart, on the other hand, has dabbled in a number of relationships with both men and women, choosing to keep the public guessing when it comes to her preference. However, that is not the case anymore as the alleged girlfriend of Stella Maxwell has opened up about how hard it was to come out of the closet.

"If it didn't seem like a relevant topic, like something that needed help, I would have kept my life private forever," Kristen Stewart said, reports The Times. "But then I can't walk outside holding somebody's hand, as I'm followed everywhere. When I was dating Rob, the public was the enemy, and that is no way to live. [Coming out] wasn't this grand statement, 'I was so confused!"

Kristen Stewart also added while she was constantly afraid of being judged if she came out, staying closeted prevented her from revealing her real self. However, now that she has come out into the open, she has stopped struggling with her inner self and truly realized who she wants to be, Korea Portal reports.

Nevertheless, both Stewart and Pattinson, remain good friends, as they were recently spotted grabbing lunch together at an LA restaurants. Rumors are that both of them are thinking of pairing up for another "Twilight" movie to boost their careers.
