Mike and Ike are reunited and it tastes so good! Grammy Award winning artist Nelly and the Mike and Ike Just Born, Inc. family teamed up last night in New York City at Tribeca Cinemas to launch the new trailer for Mike and Ike's 2013 reconciliation, debut new packaging, and Mike and Ike's enhanced fruit flavors.

"We wanted to work with Nelly because he is passionate about his Mike and Ike's," David Yale, President & Chief Operating Officer for Just Born said. Nelly said on the Monique Show, in 2010 that he loved Mike and Ike's and had to have them at every performance. "Nelly was the perfect person to help us reunite Mike and Ike, he has been in films and is a Grammy Award winning artist, so he understood Mike and Ike."

The candy duo which has been and American classic since it was founded in 1940, recently suffered a tragic break up in 2012 as Mike and Ike went their separate ways to pursue music and film careers respectively. With Nelly's influence the classic candy is back with enhanced fruit flavors, made with real fruit juice, and eye-popping modern packaging.

"Man I love Mike and Ike," Nelly said. "The new Strawberry Fusion is cool but I am an original guy myself." At the event Nelly told a childhood story about his favorite neighborhood gas station snack stop where he recalled purchasing Mike and Ike's on his way home.

While Nelly was on hand to promote the new and improved Gluten free candies, he also chatted with me about his upcoming album and unexpected collaborations. Now that Mike and Ike are back together Nelly is back in the studio as he confirmed that his album is almost 97 percent ready for release.
