AMD Ryzen has something for Desktop and Server side of things against its competitors. With the introduction of the first Ryzen processors earlier this month and the Server Ryzen "Naples", AMD is fully loaded. But it seems like they are still hiding something on their sleeves. And in this case, they're still holding up a 16core/32thread behemoth that will be unleashed in a couple of months.
According to Overclock, there's a rumor about a 16 core / 32 thread quad channel chipset and it is to coming in a couple of months. It will be called Ryzen X399 and is targeted for HEDT, an Intel coined name for High-End Desktops. The behemoth chip is believed to be announced and confirmed at Computex. AMD doesn't confirm the existence of this chip yet, so it is safe to wait for further announcement.
But with AMD being competitive these days, it is a safe bet that the rumored Ryzen X399 is true. For budding enthusiasts or for those whose already on board for the best, it is recommended to save and wait for this chip. The chip is expected to be cheaper than Intel products, following the scheme that AMD started since the introduction of Ryzen.
According to PC Gamer, the X399 would be a cut-down version of AMD's Ryzen Server nicknamed "Naples". The X399 is also said to be the champion for AMD against Intel's Haswell-E and Broadwell-E. With this said, it is expected that the X399 will have a clockspeeds of about 3.1GHz to 3.6Ghz.
Hopefully the Windows 10 performance struggle from the previous Ryzens will be patched up in this rumored chip. The beefy performance of Ryzen is not achieved yet because of the separate L3 caches on each CCX. AMD needs to patch up that problem to ensure Ryzen supremacy over Intel.
