‘Bones’ Reunion Possible: Creator Hart Hanson On Series Finale, Fighting Fox & Show’s Return

"Bones" wrapped up after 12 years of a superb run, but fans of the forensic thriller were left wanting for more. To everyone's delight, creator Hart Hanson has hinted the possibility of a reunion in the near future.

Even though "Bones" achieved what most TV series simply dream about, that is, a 12 year long run on air, it wasn't without its fair share of hurdles. Hart Hanson told Deadline in an interview that keeping the show from getting canceled was a constant struggle, especially since the network did not particularly care about it.

When it comes to making it big in television, one has to tough it up, admitted Hanson, while referring to the difficulties that he and his team had to endure when it came to "Bones."  He further added, "So, when I say that Fox never tried to make us a hit, it's not whining."

However, Hanson also made it clear that he can never be disappointed with how "Bones" ended because it was everything that he has hoped for. Despite the explosion and the rumored death of a favorite character, everyone survived in the series finale of the show, which is more than the viewers could hope for. The show ended on a positive note, and it was even made clear that the Jeffersonian lab would again rise from its ashes and be functional someday.

Despite the 8 time slots that the show had to juggle through and the constantly fluctuating ratings, longtime fans of "Bones" did not want the show to end. Even the showrunners admitted before the series finale that they would have liked to have one more season to play out all the subplots that they had planned, Stars Post reported. 

Careful not to confirm anything, Hart Hanson has stated that one should not wave off the possibility of "Bones" making its way back to the television screens one day. He mentioned that, "in a couple years or something, it might be a lot of fun to get the band back together again and see what we could do."
