"NCIS" Season 15 may not happen if Mark Harmon leaves the show. Speculations are rife that the actor plans to exit over concerns about his health.
CBS already gave the green light for "NCIS" Season 15 although rumors continue to swirl that Season 14 could be the last. This claim comes amid the incessant speculations that Harmon is next to leave the show after Michael Weatherly.
Harmon reportedly plans to leave the show after Season 14 to give way for his health. He will not be in "NCIS" Season 15 so he can take better care of himself. This rumor came after fans noticed that he has been looking frail lately. Viewers have since expressed their concern for the actor's health on Twitter.
Likewise, Harmon seems to hint at the show's end in a previous interview, which only fuels rumors on "NCIS" Season 15 cancellation. The 65-year old talked about the future of the CBS show during an interview with Entertainment Online. "Look, they all end at some point, and who knows when this one will end, but for now it's important to take time to enjoy this in the midst of everything that we're experiencing," Harmon said.
Outside of Harmon's rumored exit, speculations on the "NCIS" Season 15 cancellation also came after Weatherly's exit. Ratings have reportedly significantly dropped after the actor left for a lead appearance on "Bull." It is because of this that Harmon also plans to leave for another show, although the actor has yet to address this rumor.
Regardless, the "NCIS" Season 15 cancellation is unlikely to happen since Harmon does not just star but he also executive produces the show. Likewise, according to Mail Online, he has already signed a two-year deal to reprise Leroy Gibbs.
Meanwhile, Harmon has yet to confirm his return to the show, which could also end rumors about the "NCIS" Season 15 cancellation. Season 14 will end on May 16.
