A new report has recently gotten fans excited over "Avatar 2." It is rumored that Ben Affleck may be joining the cast of the highly anticipated sequel. Director James Cameron has yet to officially confirm the news.
While there is no official confirmation about the rumor yet, fans are already looking forward to the "Batman vs Superman" actor's supposed appearance in "Avatar 2." It is unclear if he will be joining the cast as an ally of Pandora or if he will be an enemy.
Ben Affleck has also not yet responded to the rumor about his alleged appearance in "Avatar 2." It is unclear if he is working on any projects at the moment since he recently checked into rehab. The Irish Sun reports that the ex-husband of Jennifer Garner is doing well in rehab.
Meanwhile, Sigourney Weaver has spilled the beans on the production start date of "Avatar 2." The actress, who plays Grace in the movie, said shooting will kick off sometime fall. She also said training has started for the highly anticipated film.
"Avatar 2" has been under pre-production for around 8 years but this time, it seems things are moving faster. Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Sigourney Weaver explained that the cast and crew are trying to "get it done as quickly as possible." She did not reveal anything about the plot yet but she said the movie will be "worth waiting for."
Weaver went on to reveal that she isn't "worried" about getting fans disappointed. She explained that "Avatar 2" has "amazing" scripts and she's only worried about bringing the stories to life. She referred to the production staff as "ambitious."
It was previously rumored that "Avatar 2" would start shooting this summer. However, Comic Book notes that James Cameron has always been late in delivering for the big franchise. It appears that Weaver's latest reveal is more believable.
"Avatar 2" is slated for release sometime Christmas 2018. Stay tuned for more news on the cast and production.
