Photos from the set of the series give a glimpse at some of the changes happening in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B. It seems the New York Institute has set up a new cell and the Seelie Queen is definitely arriving in the midseason.
Fansided provided several photos from the set of the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B, although four of these images stood out. One is a photo of what appears to be a new prison cell at the basement of the New York Institute. The setup was reportedly staged behind the set possibly to make it seem inconspicuous. The cell features a single bed placed in the middle of the room. A glass wall covers one side of the room and the rest is made of concrete.
Going into the basement cell is a wall made up of boxes. A photo shows that these boxes have nameplates on them, similar to those found in a crypt. There were reportedly also tombs engraved on the ground. Whoever lives in the cell could be someone important or dangerous enough to be hidden from view. Perhaps The Clave decided to imprison Valentine at the New York Institute in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B instead of bringing him back to Idris.
The third set photo teases the appearance of the Seelie Queen's throne. A wooden chair decked with branches and leaves sit in a corner of a room made to look like the Seelie Court. Images show the room filled with trees and leaves and colorful petals scattered on the floor. The setup is proof that showrunner Todd Slavkin was telling the truth when he said that the Seelie Queen appears in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B.
It remains unknown though if the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B will recreate Clary and Jace's kiss at the Seelie Court. Former series creator Ed Decter previously told TV Line that this will happen in the show.
Regardless, Slavkin assured that the Seelie Queen is too powerful not to appear in multiple episodes of the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B. Likewise, the Seelie Court will also be featured in several episodes.
