Is this the worst first pitch ever? After watching the video it easy to see how many would feel the opening pitch thrown by insurance salesman John Bledsoe is just that. However, throughout baseball there have been some pretty unsightly first pitches thrown by everyday joe's to well known celebrities. Even if Bledsoe's first pitch for the Stetson and Florida State college baseball game isn't the worst, it's worth watching. It's both shocking and hilarious.

Equally terrible first pitches have been thrown before bigger crowds, but unfortunately for Bledsoe, YouTube and social media makes it possible for everyone to watch his unsightly first pitch. Bledsoe's throw went about five feet before slamming against the grass in front of the mound and rolling off to the first base side. Bledsoe then tumbled to the ground in embarrassment.

It seems as though he has a sense of humor though as he raised his hat to the crowd, while walking off the field. Luckily for poor Mr. Bledsoe, everyone has a very short attention span and it's only a matter of time before someone else manages to eclipse his throw.

Is this the worst first pitch ever? Without taking into outside factors, I would vote yes. However, you have to keep in mind Bledsoe is an insurance salesman, not an professional athlete. There have been some world class athletes who have taken that mound and failed pretty badly. What's their excuse?

Check out Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis attempt a first pitch at Seattle's Safeco Field. This is almost as bad as Bledsoe's, if not worse.

Check out John Bledsoe's first pitch and let us know who you think threw the worst first pitch.

Based purely on the throw itself, I would say Bledsoe's is worst. His wasn't even straight. Both gentlemen threw the pitch straight into the ground, but at least Lewis got the throw to go in the direction of the catcher. Bledsoe's was just a bit outside. However, when you take into consideration Lewis is a world class athlete there must be some more emphasis put on Lewis' throw right? Comment below and let us know what you think.
