‘Riverdale’ Season 1 Finale Spoilers: Showrunner Confirms Second Death

The "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale, which airs on May 11, is going to feature a second death. This character's death builds up the story for Season 2, according to series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Apparently, Jason Blossom is not the only casualty in the series. The showrunner confirmed the rumors about the second death during a press event. Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that someone else dies in the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale. "Yes, there is truth to that rumor," he said.

The showrunner added that this character's death opens the story for Season 2. "If the rumored death happens, it would go to set up season 2," Aguirre-Sacasa said as quoted by Entertainment Weekly. However, he refused to give any hints or divulge further details on who among the characters die in the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale.

Instead, Aguirre-Sacasa was very forthcoming when he talked about how the end would affect viewers. He said the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale is going to impress fans since it has all the different elements that make a great show. The showrunner and executive producer revealed that the series finale is "the ultimate Riverdale episode" because it has horror, romance, music and suspense.

The showrunner added that the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale will focus on the relationships of the show's main characters. These include the relationships of Archie and Veronica and Betty and Jughead.

Despite this grim news, there is at least one thing that fans can look forward to before the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale. Fans will finally know who killed Jason Blossom. Actress Mädchen Amick, who plays Betty's mother Alice, told The Wrap that the penultimate episode will reveal the identity of the killer.

However, the revelation leaves another mystery for fans to solve. It questions the motive behind the killing. Aside from the second death in the "Riverdale" Season 1 Finale, Season 2 also tackles the reasoning behind the murder of Jason Blossom.
