The British virtual band, Gorillaz will soon hit the road again after the release of their new album, "Humanz." The band announced that they will have a tour in North America.
Gorillaz's upcoming album "Humanz" will be released on April 28. On Monday, the duo fronted by Blur's Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett announced that they will have a series of 17 tour dates from July to October, Billboard reported.
This is their first North American tour after seven years. They will kick start their tour in Chicago on July 8 at the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. Their next stops include Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia and Quebec. They will also appear at the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco, the Meadows Music & Arts Festival in New York and at the III Points Festival in Miami, Florida.
Gorillaz has a slot for this year's Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas too. The event is scheduled on Sept. 22 until 24. The pre-sale and full lineup details are yet to be revealed.
As for the tickets of Gorillaz's tour, it will be available starting April 21. Those who purchased tickets online on selected dates has a chance to enjoy a choice of either t he standard physical or standard digital copy of the band's new album "Humanz."
The album will reportedly include four new tracks like "Saturn Barz," "Andromeda," "Ascension" and "We Got the Power." Gorillaz dropped a video for "Saturn Barz" in March and it sets a record for the most successful debut for a virtual reality music video in YouTube's history.
Gorillaz's "Humanz" tour will also feature Albarn and Hewlett's animated creations like Murdoc, Noodle, Russell and 2D. They will be joined by live musicians to perform their new material as well as their classic songs. A group of artists who were featured on their new album is also expected to join them on the stage. This includes Jehnny Beth, Danny Brown, Benjamin Clementine, De La Soul, Popcaan, Kali Uchis and more. You can check out more of the details here.
