Fans continue to hope that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens will fix their relationship following their bitter split in 2010. Rumors continue to swirl that they will reunite in "High School Musical 4," although this is unlikely to happen since Hudgens confirmed she is not in the film.
"High School Musical 4" is happening and Zanessa fans are keeping their fingers crossed to see the exes reunite in the film. The movie only fuelled speculations about their reconciliation, although fans may be in for a disappointment. Hudgens said that she is not in the sequel since she refused to portray an older character.
The "Powerless" star said that Gabriella Montez could be a teacher in "High School Musical 4." After all, Hudgens is already 28. However, the actress refused to portray a schoolteacher since she said that she is "still a teenager at heart." "So probably not with me, but I'm excited to see what they whip together," Hudgens told E! News.
Likewise, Hudgens hinted that a reunion with her ex is unlikely going to happen. Access Hollywood asked the actress if she and Efron still communicate with each other, during an interview about "High School Musical 4." Hudgens revealed that she has "completely lost contact with him."
A Zanessa reunion is unlikely going to happen either in "High School Musical 4" or anywhere else. Hudgens is busy with other projects and currently in a happy relationship with "The Shannara Chronicles" star Austin Butter. Likewise, Efron has since moved on from their split and has dated other girls.
Furthermore, Efron has not confirmed his return in "High School Musical 4." He has remained mum about his appearance in the sequel since he too is busy making movies. Efron has several films lined up and is set to appear in the comedy film "Baywatch" opposite The Rock.
