Disney recently revealed the schedules for its lineup of films for 2019, which includes "Frozen 2." The sequel has a release date in the later part of November 2019.
Fans still have to wait long for the return of Anna and Elsa to the big screen. Disney Animation took to its official Twitter page to announce the release date for "Frozen 2." The sequel "is coming to theaters on Nov. 27, 2019," read the tweet.
The studio did not reveal further details about the film, like production schedules, cast updates or plot details. For now, fans are left in the dark about the sequel. So far, what has been confirmed is the return of the original casts in "Frozen 2." According to Billboard, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Josh Gad will reprise Elsa, Anna and Olaf, respectively.
The first film enthralled viewers in 2013 and quickly became a massive hit. It won Oscars for Best Original song for "Let It Go" and Best Animated Feature. Even after it opened in theaters, the film retained its popularity because of movie-tie in products and game applications. Fans also clamored for a sequel, so in 2015 directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee confirmed their return for "Frozen 2."
Details about "Frozen 2" have so far been scarce. Aside from the returning casts, rumors have it that the sequel will feature an evil Elsa. Once again, an evil force will test the sisters' bond, according to The Telegraph.
Likewise, there will be new characters in "Frozen 2." Olaf will reportedly have a girlfriend. Elsa and Anna will sport new dresses, with an upgrade on Elsa's popular blue dress. Of course, there is the musical theme of the movie. Soundtrack composers are now looking to make another hit that could potentially win another Oscar. The composers are looking at a new song called "True Love" that is said to be as catchy as "Let It Go."
