Starz has confirmed a September 2017 release date for the new installment of the series which is based on Diana Gabaldon’s third book titled “Voyager.” However, due to some paperworks, the exact date has to be sorted out and finalized.

Moreover, there are new characters that will be appearing in the coming season as Gary Young and Charlie Hiett have joined the cast.

Young will play the role of Mr. Willoughby, a Chinese man with a deep knowledge of Eastern medicine. He becomes a confidante of Jamie in “Outlander” Season 3. Meanwhile, Hiett will portray Captain Thomas Leonard. He is said to be the by-the-book captain of the Artemis.
