Fans of "Steven Universe" have some bad news to hear. It turns out that the new episodes announced and confirmed do not mean that Season 5 is kicking off. It remains to be seen when the new season will arrive.
When Cartoon Network announced that "Steven Universe" will have new episodes this month, fans were quick to conclude. Most suggested that the new episodes spark the beginning of Season 5. Others believed they are just part of Season 4B. It appears the latter is more acceptable.
Polygon reports that Cartoon Network has slammed the rumors of May 8 being the beginning of "Steven Universe" Season 5. The show has always had a very unique schedule and even experts sometimes do not know how to predict the air dates. The unique schedule has sparked confusion among some fans.
On the other hand, CN has finally confirmed that May 8 will not kick off the new installment that fans are expecting. The network did not really say that the new episodes are part of "Steven Universe" Season 4. For now, it can be best to assume that the upcoming episodes are still within the Season 4 circle.
Meanwhile, viewers of "Steven Universe" can still watch out for the new episodes coming this month. Animation Magazine has revealed the details about the new stories that Steven and his friends will share.
Starting Monday, May 8, "Steven Universe" will have a five-night event. The first episode is titled "Lion 4: Alternate Ending." Episode 2 is titled "Doug Out," wherein Connie, Steven, and the former's father will star. Episode 3, titled "The Good Lars," will see a party with the Cool Kids.
On May 11, "Steven Universe" will feature a back-to-back play with "Are You My Dad" and "I Am My Mom." The latter will see Steven trying to fix the mistakes he has made in his life. It is expected to be an episode that will see him reminiscing the memories of his mother.
