It's been a few weeks since Jessica Sanchez dropped her debut album Me, You & The Music and just a few days since she made her amazing appearance on Glee as Frida Romero. You may think that now that the album is out and the Glee run is over, there'd be nothing to talk about in the land of the Blujays but you'd be wrong. Sanchez recently sat down with Billboard to discuss the process behind Me, You & The Music.
On How The Album Got Started:
"I actually started the whole album process while I was on the Idol tour. And that was crazy cuz I had to fly in and out of L.A. to go see certain producers, to go record certain songs...I was more afraid of Idol than this whole process because Idol was more of a competition and this was more of a platform that I wanted to get a hold of and get on top of."
On Song Selection for Me, You & The Music:
"The way it worked...songs weren't just given to me like, 'You have to record this song.' I had an opinion about it and everything so it was really lenient and awesome."
On how other people perceive her:
"I just gotta show and prove myself to everybody that I'm not just a balladeer. And that's easy for me because, I mean I'm pretty fierce at this stuff."
On Glee:
"Glee just came. Ryan Murphy contacted me, it's not like I reached out. So I started taking acting classes, trying to build up that acting skill. Being on set was ridiculous, we did the whole thing in a week. I was like 'this is insane.'"
