It's been a busy week for Gucci Mane. First he announced that he signed Chicago drill rapper Chief Keef to his Brick Squad label, bestowing upon him the outfit of 1017 Glo Gang. (The move seems like an attempt to replace agro-rapper Waka Flocka Flame, who departed from the Gucci Mane label after the two got in an altercation earlier this year). With the ink barely dry on his latest business deal, he released a Chief Keef collaboration. Well, lest we forget about Guwop in the long 2 days since that release, he's dropped "Use Me," the second 2 Chainz collaboration from his upcoming album Trap House 3.
The single is operatic and string-fille, serving as a decent follow up to "Dirty Cup." Gucci may have been inspired to get his Bill Withers on by the track's title, as the beat regularly drops out to let Gucci's strained warble sing a few bars. It should be funny, but somehow the Trap God just makes it work. 2 Chainz does what he does best, aka ridiculous party rap full of groan-worthy lines yelled with serious conviction.
Look for this one on your local rap station, starting yesterday.
What do you think of Gucci Mane's latest track "Use Me"? Who had the best verse, Guwop or 2 Chainz? Does Gucci have a career ahead of him on American Idol?
