Ian Somerhalder & Nikki Reed Finances Cause Strain in Marriage? Nina Dobrev Caused Career Dive

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are most certainly excited with their coming baby. Divorce rumors continue to hound them, however, in the midst of this joyful development in their lives. No matter how many times they deny it, the rumors do not die. The latest to have come up is that the couple are divorcing due to the financial problems they are facing.

Although he has spent two decades acting, Ian Somerhalder is mostly known for his role as Damon Salvatore in the long running series “The Vampire Diaries.” One of the reasons Somerhalder is said to be miserable is because his wife is now the only one bringing home the money from her clothing line, Bayou With Love. After the show ended in March, Somerhalder has no projects lined up. Compared to him, his fellow TVD alums have had no problems finding new work.

Ian Somerhalder’s ex and former co-star, Nina Dobrev, for one has found herself in different projects like the Vin Diesel movie “xXx: Return of Xander Cage.” She has also been signed on to be the spokesperson for Reebok and Donna Karan New York. Somerhalder’s career, however, came to a screeching halt after their series wrapped up. It also came at a time when he needs a new project the most because of the coming baby.

According to reports, Ian Somerhalder’s career went downhill after he broke up with Nina Dobrev. Their romance was well received by fans and they became one of Hollywood’s “it” couples at the time they were together reports E! News. The end of their relationship also marked a seeming negative effect on his career. To make matters worse, Somerhalder and Dobrev’s onscreen reunion reportedly caused fights with Nikki Reed. There are also reports that the “Twilight” actress has also banned her husband from working with other actresses.

Now with a baby on the way, Ian Somerhalder is desperate to land a project. But, he is said to have rejected an offer to join “The Originals” Season 4 in order to please Nikki Reed. He would have reunited with Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley in “The Vampire Diaries” spinoff according to a previous MStars News. Many fans of Somerhalder and Reed think that their constant fighting over money would lead to divorce despite of her being pregnant with their first child.
