Why do so many internet hoaxters enjoy killing off celebrities? This latest "death hoax" involves popular rapper Eminem - he wasn't exactly "killed" on Facebook, but bogus rumors have it that he was recently stabbed in NYC and left for dead. There's even a disturbing, bloody image of the "injured" Marshall Mathers that goes along with the fake post. But just to confirm - Slim Shady was NOT stabbed four times, and he's definitely NOT on the verge of death! The truth is that Em's set to release a new album soon (sometime around May 28, 2013)... which is actually GOOD news!

Eminem Death Hoax Goes Viral on Facebook: Twitter Fans Respond, Rapper NOT DEAD! New Album 2013 Rumors Heat Up, Chris Rock Collaboration?

Here's the bogus link that's currently making it's way around Facebook and the web:

Repeat - this is a total SCAM! Eminem's rep told E! News that the gruesome rumor was "not true. He remains unstabbed."

Awesome to hear!

The man in the photo is NOT the "real" Slim Shady - when fans click on the link, it opens up a ton of internet spam. So don't do it...

Although many fans fell for the disturbing stabbing hoax, others hit up Twitter to debunk the rumors:

‏@ClayRoth: "Some people still believe Eminem was actually stabbed lately. Why don't you read and not click the share button like the sheep you are #dumb."

@Eva_N_Thorn: "dont worry guys, eminem was not stabbed in NY. i know this because i stalk his life so you can all relax now."

@MarcoSaldana26: "If that Eminem hoax about him getting stabbed and left nearly dead was true, I be freaking out right now. Hip-Hop cant lose a legend!"

In fact, Em's alive and well, working on the release of his new album! As Mstars originally reported:

Fans are dying for more details about Eminem's highly-anticipated eighth studio album, and rumors have it that Slim Shady's new 2013 record is set to drop on Tuesday, May 28 - the day after Memorial Day! Although no U.S. tour dates are yet confirmed, the popular "Shady Records" rapper is set to kick off a set of European gigs in August. In a recent radio interview with Power 106, Eminem's longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre opens up about the upcoming album, claiming that Em's new music is definitely inspiring (even for a rap legend who's been in the music biz for decades)!

Back in October, Eminem (real name, Marshall Mathers) sent out a tweet announcing that he's currently working on a new album.Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg followed up withBillboard in February: "We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time... It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we're not exactly sure when. We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we're trying to see what else lines up."

Dr. Dre also spoke about the new Shady album with Power 106 back in March. He confirmed that the record was almost done, and also revealed:

"Em is finishing up his project. And for me, man, I've just gotten inspired again to go back into the studio. I'm just really having fun with life and having fun with being creative and trying new and different things with myself, just trying to stay active... As you know, it's been almost 30 years for me in music. It's a little bit difficult to keep getting inspired to get back in there but you know, music is my first love and I'm going to continue to do that as long as I can."

Pretty exciting stuff... shadyrecords.com will also allegedly undergo a major revamp.

The "8 Mile" star also recently confirmed a mini European tour, set to kick-off August 15 and wrap up Aug. 25 after headlining U.K.'s Reading and Leeds Festivals.

So, when can fans expect the new tunes to drop? Earlier this month, Aftermath Entertainment posted hints on Facebook, stating "Something Big Is Coming." Another Eminem-related post read, "New Eminem Album is coming very soon."

Detroit's Channel 955 recently posted that Eminem's upcoming LP will hit stores on July 2 on Facebook. Even so, the popular radio station announced that it wasn't an official release date. May 28, 2013 is still the rumored release date circulating on the web.

FYI: Rumors also have it that Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar will be the opening for Eminem for select U.S. concerts (maybe even for the entire tour). 50 Cent is another guest-performer being thrown around... ans Chris Rock might be featured on the record! But again, these are all just RUMORS. Stay tuned for more details!

So looks like Slim's doing just fine... he's back and here to stay!
