Academy Award winning rapper and producer Juicy J is gearing up for his third solo album, Stay Trippy. As one third of the legendary group Three 6 Mafia, Juicy originated what is now known as "trippy" or "turn up" music. Now the rapper, who has spent more than 20 years in the industry, is ready to take his trippy movement to another level.
Juicy J sat down with Fuse TV to talk Stay Trippy, his infamous phrase "ratchet p*ssy," and what it means to be "trippy."
"When you in the strip club, you are not looking for a wife," Juicy J said of his phrase 'you say no to ratchet p*ssy, Juicy J can't,' off his hit record "Bands". "When you in the strip club I'm looking for something that I can take home for the night."
Juicy's phrases have garnered him an assortment of followers, from Three 6 fans to his Taylor Gang supporters. His signature punch lines like "shut the f*ck up," and "we trippy mane," will carry on to his new album Stay Trippy. Juicy told FUSE TV that 'trippy" means sipping on lean, a concoction of prescription cough syrup and soda or alcohol, but he said "you can get trippy off weed.'
The "Trippy King" trippy movement will be all over his new album, and Juicy has already recorded more than 70 songs.
"I have a song called "Smoking and Rolling;" I got another one called "Smoking Loud," Juicy said.
If you loved Juicy J's last mixtape Blue Dream And Lean, then Stay Trippy will feel like the extended version. "Its like another Blue Dream And Lean," Juicy J told FUSE TV.
Stay Trippy is due out July 2nd, just in time for the holiday BBQ's.
