"The X Factor" may soon add two new judges to its Season 3 panel as sources confirmed to E! News that former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland and Mexican singer Paulina Rubio are in the final stages of talks to become judges on the hit Fox singing competition.
Rowland and Rubio would replace Britney Spears and L.A. Reid, who left the show after Season 2.
Fox is set to start working on Season 3 of "The X Factor" on Tuesday in Charleston, N.C. and would like to have all four judges signed before that happens. The network did not comment on the reports.
The sources told E! News that Fox would like to avoid star judges like Spears and "American Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. Instead, the show prefers less famous artists who have more experience on reality singing competitions. Rowland was a judge on Season 8 of the UK version of "The X Factor," while Rubio was a judge on "La Voz...Mexico" (aka "The Voice...Mexico"). The latter is also scheduled as a judge on Telemundo's "La Voz Kids."
Simon Cowell tweeted the following on Saturday:
We start x factor auditions in charleston on Tuesday. The new panel will be announced Monday. This is going to be an interesting show!

Consistency has been an issue for "The X-Factor" in its two seasons. British native Steve Jones hosted Season 1 but Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian took over in Season 2. Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger left as judges after the first season. Spears and Lovato took over for them in Season 2.
Cowell, the show's creator and executive producer, is the only original member still on the show.
