Will Smith and a Yeezus collaboration sounds like a blast from the ’90’s past that our ears cannot wait to hear. While promoting he and son Jaden Smith’s new sci-fi film, After Earth, Will dropped a hint that he and Kanye could have a collaboration in the works.
A Will Smith and Kanye collaboration is not so far fetched, although Will is not the chart topping rapper he once was with classic hits like he and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s “Summer Time,” Will has still be involved with hip-hop’s elite. He and wife Jada Pinkett Smith collaborated with Jay-Z and others for the Broadway production Fela. He and Jay-Z are also rumored to be teaming up again for another highly anticipated Broadway hit, Annie.
If you recall Kim, Kanye, and Will’s bestie Duane Martin were spotted vacationing in Brazil back in February. Kim and her baby bump hung out with the fellas for a group vacay in the sun. It’s no surprise, that Will has been spending more and more time with Kanye in the studio, as Yeezy made clear in his SNL rant that he just wanted to focus on making good music.
While Kanye is a certified musician, Will Smith said they he will only record if he is “fully inspired”. Only time will tell if ‘Ye inspires him enough to rock the mic again.
