In a new interview with Esquire Magazine, Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt inadvertently slams his previous marriage to Jennifer Aniston. The World War Z star opens up about being lost in life while on drugs "about a decade ago," felling unfulfilled. If you do the math, he is talking about the period of time that he was married to the "Friends" star. We all know that Pitt is now with Angelina Jolie and Aniston is preparing for her wedding to Justin Theroux, but it seems like these two just cannot get past discussing their failed romance.
"For a long time I thought I did too much damage -- drug damage," the 49-year-old sex symbol told the magazine. He adds that he felt this way "about a decade ago," which happens to coincide with his marriage to Aniston before their 2005 divorce.
Pitt said, "I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years f***ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany. It was a feeling of, 'Get up.' Because otherwise, what's the point?"
Though we are used to hearing about Jen and her take on the failed marriage, we must remember that Pitt has also shared some stories and comments on the subject. Back in 2011, Pitt spoke to Parade Magazine and ended up alluding to Aniston making his life a bit dull:

I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was so intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."
