More than 35 years ago, Paul McCartney and Wings set off on their classic "Wings Over America" tour. Next week, the 1976 live album of the same name will be released in a remastered edition with a new bonus disc.
The deluxe re-release of "Wings Over America" will contain every original track from the original 1976 edition including "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Picasso's Last Words," as well as Beatles tracks "Lady Madonna" and "I've Just Seen a Face." Each song will be remastered.
The album also includes a bonus disc of a live performance recorded at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and a DVD of the television special "Wings Over the World," along with a photo gallery. The deluxe album also includes four books of art, photographs and other trinkets that detail Wings' history.
The remastered album releases on Tuesday, May 28 but Rolling Stone has an audio preview of the tracks available here.
McCartney, who is currently on tour, formed Wings in 1971 after the Beatles disbanded. He recorded two albums (McCartney in 1970 and Ram in 1971) but eventually decided to form a new band with his wife, Linda, drummer Denny Seiwell and former Moody Blues guitarist Denny Laine.
The band released seven albums from 1971 to 1979 before they ultimately broke up in 1981 after McCartney did not want to tour because of John Lennon's murder.
Wings had 14 Top 10 singles in the United States during their time together, including six No. 1 singles. Perhaps their best known song is "Band on the Run," which came off the album of the same name.
