Rapper Tim Dog, real name Timothy Blair, reportedly died on Feb. 14 from a seizure after he battled diabetes but those reports are now in dispute as a Mississippi woman named Esther Pilgrim is claiming that the rapper faked his own death after he swindled her out of $32,000.

Rolling Stone reported the news of Tim Dog's death on Feb. 14 through a report from The Source, but the latter site's link is now dead.

In Aug. 2011, Tim Dog pled guilty to grand larceny in Mississippi for defrauding Pilgrim after he ran a financial scheme that left her with $32,000 in credit card debt. The plea agreement gave the 1990s rapper five years of probation and ordered him to pay Pilgrim $19,000 during that time.

Pilgrim said she met Tim Dog through an online dating site in 2007 and they struck up a long-distance relationship. She said the rapper told her he needed money to restart his music career.

The woman told CBS Memphis affiliate WREG earlier in May that Tim Dog could owe more than $2 million to others he scammed around the world.

Pilgrim said she received payments from Tim Dog up until his reported death. The woman looked into the situation and said she could not find out anything about the circumstances of his death, including a death certificate, witnesses or a location.

Prosecutor Steven Jubera, who helped convict Tim Dog in 2011, also looked into the rapper's alleged death. Jubera filed a petition to revoke Tim Dog's probation and authorities now have a warrant for the rapper's arrest.
