Sir Christopher Lee, an iconic actor from such movie franchises as Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, is set to release his latest heavy metal album next week. The album is entitled Charlemagne: The Omens of Death and it is the second Charlemagne-themed album and third heavy metal record for the 91-year-old actor. This latest release features Christopher Lee on vocals with Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest providing musical arrangement for the album.
His first album released in 2010 was a symphonic metal record also about the legendary conqueror entitled Charlemagne: By The Sword and The Cross. This album introduced the world to Sir Christopher Lee's metal side, leading to his second album Sir Christopher Lee's A Heavy Metal Christmas.
Considering his roles as Sarumon in The Lord of the Rings movies and Count Dooku in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the Internet community embraced Lee's musical career and even started up a meme to commemorate it.
In accordance with the release of The Omens of Death, Lee and company have released a special widget that previews each track. You can really hear just how metal this 91-year-old superstar actor can get in his storytelling of Charlemagne. Take a listen here:
Also, Lee made a promotional video for the album. In it he talks about Charlemagne a bit and even reveals that he is related to the infamous conqueror. There is also a short clip of Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath calling Lee the Emperor of Metal, crediting the actor's roles as influences of metal music. Watch the video right here:
