Jessica Sanchez: 'Glee' Guest Star, 'American Idol' Runner-up Joins National Memorial Day Concert

Jessica Sanchez- the American Idol runner-up who just finished a stint on Glee and released her first album Me, You & The Music- will perform at the National Memorial Day concert. Sanchez will sing "God Bless America" at the event honoring servicemen and women.

Sanchez has  a personal connection with the military. Her father, Gilbert Sanchez , has served several tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait with the U.S. Navy and her grandfather Edward M. Bugay is a retired Navy veteran.

This performance is her second at the annual event, and her second performance at a high-profile event in DC. She performed at the White House's official Easter celebration earlier this year.

The lineup of performers will also include American Idol winner Candace Glover (Sanchez's friend), Katherine Jackson, The Voice finalist Chris Mann, Alfie Boe in a performance with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Appearances will be made by actor Ed Harris and Colin Powell. The program will be hosted by Tony Mategna and Gary Sinise. The ceremony takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and will air on PBS at 8 p.m. EST.

The performance at the Capitol is the latest component of what has been a super-busy year for the 17-year-old Sanchez. She has made appearances on Glee, released her debut album, appeared at the Radio Disney Awards, and performed on both American Idol and Dancing With The Stars.
