Paul McCartney visited Graceland for the first time in his life last weekend and left a personalized guitar pick at Elvis Presley's grave, according to Rolling Stone.
McCartney is on the North American leg of his "Out There! Tour," which stopped in Memphis during the weekend. He left the pick on his grave "so Elvis can play guitar in heaven."
He took a tour of Graceland on Sunday, according to The Associated Press, and posted two photos on Twitter.
The first picture shows McCartney's holding the pick as he leans over the iron fence that surrounds Presley's grave:
McCartney performed at the FedEx Forum in Memphis during his first visit to the city in more than 20 years.
The "Out There! Tour" began on May 4 in Brazil. The former Beatles member has made and will continue to make stops on the tour in cities that he has not visited in years or, in some cases, at all.
McCartney and his band, Wings, also re-released their classic live album, "Wings Over America," on Tuesday. The album The deluxe contains every original track from the original 1976 edition including "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Picasso's Last Words," as well as Beatles tracks "Lady Madonna" and "I've Just Seen a Face." Each is remastered.
The album also includes a bonus disc of a live performance recorded at the Cow Palace in San Francisco and a DVD of the television special "Wings Over the World," along with a photo gallery. The deluxe album also includes four books of art, photographs and other trinkets that detail Wings' history.
