Nicki Minaj stopped by the HOT 97 Morning Show May 28. The "High School" rapper chatted with Peter Rosenberg and Ebro about her Gay fans, leaving American Idol, her new movie, and loving the female body.
On the heels of closing her American Idol tenure, Nicki Minaj is in the process of filming a new movie with Cameron Diaz. In the comdey The Other Woman, Nicki stars as Cameron Diaz's assistant, (similar to Jennifer Hudson as Carrie's assistant in the Sexy In the City movies).
On set the two ladies bonded as Cameron told Nicki that she lives a low key life, sand security, but reminded Nicki that part of the blessing of their careers is when they are havinf a bad day and fans ask them for their autograph. Cameron's words of wisdom stuck with Nicki, as she told Rosenberg and Ebro that dealing with the attention and fans even, when you are down is part of the game.
Nicki also talked about being happy on the movie, set after dealing with the stress of American Idol. When asked about the popular fued with Mariah Carey, Nicki said it "was real, but that she doesn't want to talk about her anymore." God Bless her," Nicki Said, shifting gears to talk about her fans.
As we all know Nicki loves her "Barbz." They helped her to create her KMart clothing line, and the superstar is known to interact and converse with fans via her Twitter Account. While Nicki's fans are diverse ranging in age, race, and sexuality, Nicki sad that her role in the gay community is something that she never expected. "I always try to instill confidence in my fans, because I know what it feels like to be judged, to be different," Nicki said. " When I first came out I noticed they were Gay, but now I don't even look at that." Nicki said also noted that her fans sexuality is the last thing on her mind.
Nicki's role in the gay community may also stem from her openess with her sexuality, as she came out as bisexual in the past and also prides herself on her love and willingness to admire the female body. "I can compliment a woman, beauty, fat a$$'s and boobs." "I like looking at other peoples body's."
