On Tuesday evening's heated elimination episode of "The Voice" (May 28), fan-favorites Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons were sent packing after America "saved" country songstress Amber Carrington - and apparently rocker judge Adam Levine was not too happy about it. Following the elimination, a hot mic picked up Levine muttering "I hate this country" under his breath... and the slight "anti-America" gibe soon went viral. Levine then hit up Twitter to defend himself, insinuating that the remark was just a humorous joke. Are fans offended by the Maroon 5 frontman's unpatriotic remark?
Levine made the hateful remark as cameras zoomed-in on fellow judge Blake Shelton, considering one of the country star's contestant favorites (Amber Carrington) was just sparred elimination. "The Voice" host Carson Daly announced that Carrington had just been "saved by America." And that's when Levine reacted by stating, "I hate this country." He didn't mean for the comment to appear on-air, but a hot mic happened to record the insult... and Twitter fans immediately responded:
Does @adamlevine get deported for saying 'I hate this country' on the voice tonight? lol hey US we'll trade you for Bieber!
Adam Levine just said 'I hate this country' on TV... Not a smart move dude, not smart at all. #america.
Check out the viral clip hear... Levine makes the remark at around the minute 1:10 mark:
On Wednesday morning (May 29), Levine posted these "explanatory" tweets:

Do fans still support Team Levine?
