Jessica Sanchez has had a bang-up year. She debuted an album to favorable reviews, appeared on two episodes of Glee and was tapped to perform at the National Memorial Day concert. However, those achievements may pale in comparison to the following: the 17-year-old American Idol alum was shouted out by President Barack Obama.
When Barack Obama stepped up to the White House podium on Tuesday night, it didn't take eagle eyes to notice that he had lipstick on his collar. He beat curious reporters to the punch by saying:
"I want to thank everybody who's here for the incredible warmth of the reception. A sign of the warmth is the lipstick on my collar."
Sensing the obvious reaction, Obama said "I have to say I think I know the culprit" before calling out for Jessica Sanchez.
However, the 17-year-old Sanchez wasn't the source of the lipstick.
"It wasn't Jessica. It was her aunt," said Obama. "Where is she? Auntie, right there. Look at this. Look at this. I just want everybody to witness."
"I do not want to get in trouble with Michelle, so I'm calling you out right in front of everybody," he added.
What do you think about Jessica Sanchez getting a shout out from the president? Where does Sanchez go from here? Will she continue her upward trajectory?
