Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Piqué welcomed baby boy Milan Piqué Mebarak back in January, and so far the "Hips Don't Lie" songstress is totally loving motherhood! One of Shakira's favorite mommy duties... breastfeeding. "The Voice" starlet enjoys it so much, she probably won't stop until Milan heads off to college. Meanwhile, the Columbian beauty is currently working on new music for her upcoming album. Read on for more exciting details!
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, 36-year-old Shakira admits that motherhood is one of the best experiences of her life. And breastfeeding isn't so bad, either!
"Breastfeeding has been one of the best experiences of my life. I love it! I can't stop! I think I'm going to breastfeed him until he goes to college! I'm hooked! I think that it helps a lot [with losing the baby weight]... I haven't weighed myself ... I think I'm close but I can't sing victory yet!"
When Shakira isn't bonding with or watching over her four-month-old son, she's busy mentoring competitors on the hit singing reality show "The Voice" -
"I thought I was going to be super-controlling because I am like that with my songs, my career and everything I do professionally -- I like to be in charge. But with him, I'm so relaxed... It's so surprising because everybody thought I was going to be one of those hysterical mothers, like smothering mothers, and I feel that I'm not as nervous. I'm relaxed."
And what about new music? Shakira's been recording some stuff, but there's still a long ays to go until a new album is finished:
"I've recorded some stuff, but I'm halfway there. I don't know exactly what I've got because I make so many songs and some of them might make it and some of them won't. I'm just searching and writing about pretty much anything that comes to my mind and just letting myself be, without putting too much limits."
Cute fun-fact of the day - Shakira's even penned an adorable tune for baby Milan! "I did write a song for him the day I was going to deliver him... But it's just for us!"
