America may have voted Judith Hill off of "The Voice" on Tuesday night, but Judith is taking her lost in stride as she recalled to MTV News, how Michael Jackson's words of wisdom helped her realize her talent and make that far on "The Voice."
Prior to becoming a reality TV show contestant, Judith Hill had the honor of serving as a background singer for the late King of Pop's final "This Is It" tour, and while judges praised her accomplishments, fans bashed the songstress for "exploiting," Michael Jackson's name, MTV News reported.
"Yeah, a weird sort of criticism because I didn't know what it was," Hill told MTV News of her reaction to fans. However, Hill didn't let those assumptions phase her as she performed on "The Voice" stage night after night to rave reviews.
When Judith Hill was asked to perform a tribute to her late mentor on The Voice, although she was reluctant, Hill knew that she could not let the critics win. The soulful singer couldn't hold her composure as she belted out her rendition of Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel."
"It was like a release, kind of, to be able to celebrate Michael - my time with him and everything," Hill told MTV News.
According to MTV News Hill believes that if Jackson were alive, he would fully support her. "He was so, so kind and gracious, he would say, you know, 'It's your time to shine,' " she said. "He said that a lot. I think that he would be very proud of everything I've done so far."
