26-year-old star football striker Luis Suarez has officially come out saying that he wants to leave his current club team, Liverpool. He says that he has had enough of the English media hounding him and attacking him. Unfortunately for him, the organization does not want to lose the powerful, goal-scoring asset and have announced that he is not for sale. But just mentioning his request to be traded is surely going to cause trouble for the soccer club in the long run, wouldn't you agree?
This is what Suarez -who is currently serving a 10-game ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic - said during a press conference in Uruguay:
"My reason for leaving is not the money. If it were the money I would have left already. My main reason is my family and my image.
"That's my priority now. It's a difficult moment for me. The coach and my colleagues know that they didn't treat me well here. I don't feel comfortable here anymore. They know it [the team]. So I think it's understandable that I leave."
When asked to explain his reasons for leaving even further, Suarez continued:
"Firstly, being persecuted from the paparazzi all the time. I couldn't go to my garden or the supermarket. I couldn't do anything. I know is normal being followed by the press, but it was too much. All silly things they said about me, all the pictures, all the taunts, etc.
"That happened every day and nobody (in the press) supported me. They talk about me being the named as the best player in England, but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I knew it because of the way the treated me. And the straw that breaks the camel was my mistake. I accept my fault, but they went too far (English press)."
The star player also admitted that he does not have any offers but says Liverpool knows he wants out. Here is a video of the press conference:
Liverpool definitely knows that he wants out, but only had this to say in response:
"Luis Suarez is not for sale. The club remains supportive of Luis and expects him to honor his contract. The club will not be making any further comment at this time."
One team rumored to have shown some interest in Suarez is Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.
