Maria Alyokhina of Pussy Riot has ended her 11-day hunger strike after security officials made concessions to the feminist punk-rocker's demands. The woman who was jailed for participating in an anti-Kremlin protest announced her strike during a parole hearing on May 22.

"It seems the public reaction [to Maria's strike] was so big that there was a political decision," Pyotr Verzilov, the husband of fellow Pussy Riot member and prisoner Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, told Reuters. "They organized an 'excursion' for Maria today, where she was shown that all her demands, like removing metal locks from doors and easing 24-hour surveillance on certain inmates, were met."

Alyokhina alleged that the guards at her facility were treating her unfairly. She claimed her "rights were being violated" and her lawyers allege that officials at the prison where she is being held imposed strict security measures to turn inmates against the 25-year-old.

Both Alyokhina and Tolonnikova have been denied parole and are appealing this decision. If they serve their full sentence, the women will not be free until March 2014.

Dmitri Medvedev, Russia' Prime Minister, has called for the release of the Pussy Riot prisoners. However, President Vladimir Putin is unlikely to budge.

We have red lines beyond which starts the destruction of the moral foundations of our society," he said in October. "If people cross this line they should be made responsible in line with the law."

The women were arrested during a short protest near Moscow's Christ The Saviour Cathedral. Both women received a two year sentence for "hooliganism motivated by religious hatred," according to The Guardian.

The women have appealed their original conviction and been denied. However, the collective will have their own documentary and book later this year. The film, titled Pussy Riot-A Punk Prayer will air on HBO on June 10 at 9 p.m. EST, according to SPIN. The book Let's Start A Pussy Riot will debut at Meltdown Festival in London.
