Lil Wayne doesn't need a day to tell him when to remember.  Though it has been a week since the US celebrated Memorial Day, the rapper took to Twitter to send out the following note of remembrance.

"Today I remember and pay homage to the negro soldiers that served and fought in World War II," wrote Wayne.

The tweet has been favorite almost 1,500 times and re-tweeted 2,200-plus times.

The somber tone is a change of pace for Wayne, who typically tweets his thoughts on NBA games, songs he's listening to, shout-outs to friends or videos of himself skateboarding.
