Rhianna, Taylor Swift, and Avril Levigne: Charity Common Ground Among Songstresses

With Rhianna, Taylor Swift and Avril Levigne, when it comes to helping children through charity they have a lot in common.

Rhianna started a charity in 2006 called The Believe Foundation which specializes in helping children who are terminally ill. She will do charitable concerts and afterward, she will meet with terminally ill children from local organizations, sign autographs and pose for pictures according to LookToTheStars.org.

She shares this charitable side with many country music stars including Taylor Swift. According to LookToTheStars.org she donated half a million dollars to help the relief effort in the 2010 Tennessee floods.  Swift has donated everything from money, to her prom dress, to signed guitars to sell at auction to raise money. Swift in partnership with the Academy of Country Music also donated $50,000 to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in 2011.

Avril Levigne has a self appointed charity called the Avril Levigne Foundation. In 2012, she collected items from artists like Chad Kroeger of Nickleback, Katy Perry, and Travis Barker of Blink 182. Her foundation supports children who are growing up with serious illness or disabilities, and the money raised helps families pay for treatments.

Most celebrities donate a lot of their time, money, and talent to charities all over. It turns out, Pop singers like Rhianna, country singers like Taylor Swift, and Rock stars like Avril Levigne all have affinity for helping children in need.

Looks like we all have more in common than our music genres might suggest.
