2 Chainz follows up his Grammy nominated debut album, "Based on a T.R.U. Story" with his latest single, "Feds Watching," featuring Pharell Williams.
On the reggae infused hip-hop track Chainz raps on the hook, "I'm be fresh as hell if the Feds watching," as he goes on to brag about his fashion game, "Mr. Comme des Garçons, Mr. Alexander Wang." While 2 Chainz rarely holds his own on a single, if you were looking for a feature verse on this track from Pharell, you can forget it (maybe on the remix?). Chainz comes out strong with his humorous punch lines and southern accident for two verses, while the infectious beat allows you to detach your focus from the lyrics and get lost in Pharell's harmony.
MTV News spoke to 2 Chainz about his new music and what people can expect from him in the future. "We should all celebrate the week of the 10th man, I'm just really... adding gasoline or adding steroids to what I was already doing as far as locking down the club, locking down the streets," 2 Chainz told MTV News. "Just really giving it to you from my heart man and also enjoying life, enjoying getting this paper. You feel me?"
Chainz premiered the song at Hot 97's Summer Jam 2013 and he brought out special guest Nicki Minaj for "Love Them Strippers." "Feds Watching" is available on iTunes now.
