Next week, Paul McCartney will be taking a short break from his “Out There” tour to stop by Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” for a special hour-long episode. This is the second time the usually 30-minute long show will increase it’s allotted time for special music episode, the first time was once in 2011 for Radiohead. So on Wednesday June 12 from 11:30 pm to 12:30 am (ET/PT), you can enjoy an interview with McCartney as well as performances of his current tour’s roster of songs.
“I think this McCartney kid’s got something special and I’m gonna put him on the map!” Colbert said.
This special episode will mark Sir Paul McCartney's first musical appearance on the late-night satirical news program. The former Beatles singer first appeared on “The Colbert Report" back in January of 2009 for the a segment entitled "Better Know a Beatle.” Here is a video clip of that interview segment, featuring Paul McCartney and Stephen Colbert singing “Ebony and Ivory”:
On May 18, 2013, Paul McCartney kicked off the North American leg of his "Out There" tour at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
His website boasts: “The all-new "Out There" tour will see Paul and his band travel the world throughout the year, even visiting some places they've never been before.”
