MTV will be hosting a 24-hour online music festival called 'Live Music Day Festival' on June 19. 50-plus performers will take the digital stage in an event that will span MTV, VH1 and CMT. At the same time, fans will be urged to vote for their picks to win an O Music Award, which celebrates artist's internet presence.
"We've created the first-of-its-kind music festival that's both connecting artists and fans and allowing them to participate in the awards and festival in new ways," Dermot McCormac of Viacom Music, said in a statement to Reuters.
Fans will be allowed to customize their lineup to only see acts they want to hear. On top of the stage performances, ?uestlove of The Roots will perform in a 24-hour drum-a-thon.
The ceremony will be hosted by The Sklar Brothers and kicks off on June 19 at 7p.m. EST.
