Taylor Swift stole attention even if she didn't take home any awards at the CMT Awards on Wednesday night.
The country star took to the stage to perform her hit "Red" while wearing a floor-length gown of the same color. When Swift began playing her sparkling red guitar, the dress proved to be a split-skirt that revealed plenty of leg. The top was bustier-styled, complete with straps across her chest. Swift threw herself into the act, flinging her hair and even kneeling in front of her fellow guitarist while playing the opening licks.
Swift has shown some attitude at concerts and other awards ceremonies, but has generally refrained during shows within the country music industry, such as the CMT's and CMA's. The rest of the performance was equally outgoing, featuring a multitude of spotlights and performers waving flags.
The musician was a little more modest on the red carpet, sporting a beige, strapless dress that came to mid-thigh.
Swift has made headlines in years past thanks to her collection of celebrity boyfriends, such as John Mayer and Joe Jonas. This year she opted to avoid the gossip column by bringing her brother Austin as her "date."
Although Swift's performance may generate the most male attention out of last night's proceedings, the star didn't take home any awards despite being nominated for two awards. Miranda Lambert and duo Florida Georgia Line both took home two of the ceremony's traditional belt buckle awards. The award for Video of The Year went to another big female name, with Carrie Underwood winning with her single "Blown Away."
