December 10, 2007 - the last time members of the legendary rock band Led Zeppelin got together to play a one-night reunion gig during London's Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert. No wonder so many fans are hoping for a full-out "reunion" tour in 2013-2014! Unfortunately, that's very unlikely to happen (former President Bill Clinton is probably devastated). Back in February, frontmant Robert Plant told Australia's "60 Minutes" that his calendar for 2014 was totally clear... insinuating that perhaps Led Zeppelin would hit the road again that year. But bassist John Paul Jones just doesn't have the time - he's currently busy working on his own opera based off of August Strindberg's "The Ghost Sonata." So... is Plant maybe looking for a temporary replacement, or is a Led Zeppelin reunion totally out of the question?

So, here's how Bill Clinton works into the potential Led Zeppelin reunion...

David Saltzman (of the Robin Hood Foundation) and film executive Harvey Weinstein approached Clinton in Washington, DC last year, asking him to make the "reunion" plea. At-the-time, Led's surviving members Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and Jimmy Page were in Washington for the Kennedy Center Honors. The plan was for Clinton to ask them to play during NYC's Superstorm Sandy benefit concert... he supposedly asked, they said no.

Still, Twitter fans haven't given up hope...

@jpinkham: "Dear Led Zeppelin, you're running out of time. Do a reunion tour now. Please. Thanks Sincerely, a fan that wasn't alive when you toured."

@Timwineguy: "My list of bands I would like to see do a reunion concert begins with Led Zeppelin and pretty much ends there."

@DiloAndStitch: "I'd do sick, twisted things to see Led Zeppelin live in the late 70's, or at least a reunion tour #BestThereEverWas."

@hannahkuchar: "Okay here we go... @satan will you take my soul in exchange for a Led Zeppelin reunion tour?"

But for John Paul Jones, 2014 is all about the opera. There's not much room for rock.

"2014 is full of opera for me, at the moment," Jones recently said at an after-party for the London launch of the Philip Glass opera "The Perfect American."

"I'm halfway through the first act," the musician adds. He's currently working on a piece influenced by "The Ghost Sonata." Jones admits that the biggest challenge is "the sheer scale of it, I think. I don't know. I'm probably about to find out what the challenges are."

Meanwhile, Plant is currently playing shows with The Sensational Space Shifters... Page is working on remastering Zeppelin’s full catalog. As for a Led Zeppelin reunion... fingers crossed?
