Grammy winning singer Bruno Mars' (born Peter Gene Hernandez) has officially broken his silence in regards to the death of his mother. The singer thanked his fans on Twitter and announced that he will soon be back on stage. Bernadette Hernandez died on Saturday in Hawaii from a brain aneurysm. Bruno Mars' Atlantic Records publicist confirmed the news to the Associated Press. His mother was 55-years-old when she passed away in Honolulu at Queens Medical Center.

Hernandez was a singer and hula dancer. According to CNN, Mars was just four-years-old when he began performing as an Elvis impersonator in his family's show. Mars has gone on to become one of the most popular pop acts in the world. Mars' single "Just The Way You Are" won him a Grammy for best male pop vocal performance in 2010. Mars was nominated for three Grammy's for his first album. Mars' two big current singles are "Locked Out of Heaven" and "When I Was Your Man."
Mars just released his second album and he is supposed to start touring again for his "Moonshine Jungle Tour" on June 22. Bruno Mars has not posted on his Twitter account since Friday when he tweeted, "Imagination is the one vacation that doesn't cost a thing."
