Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has tastes success, and it's gone to her head rather quickly it seems. Kapoor, the star of the recent Bollywood hit "Aashiqui 2," has decided that she's too big to star in a music video for friend and musician Arjun Kanungo, according to an article in the Times of India.
Prior to her recent success, Kapoor signed a contract to appear in an upcoming music video for Kanungo (not a slouch himself, having written the song "Khoon Choos Le" for another popular film, "Go Goa Gone"). Shooting for "Aashiqui 2" required Kapoor to travel abroad to South Africa, but Kanungo claimed the actress promised she would take part in the music video upon return.
An unnamed source told the Times that when Kanungo inquired, Kapoor said "I am a star now. I can't do any music video." The source went on to say that Kanungo took the news rather well, and plans on casting Manali Jagtap, an artist noted for her political works.
"Aashiqui 2" is a sequel to the popular "Aashiqui," which was released in 1990. Because of the long layover between films, some worried that the film would not find an audience. However the film has been declared a "blockbuster," raking in more than $13 million U.S. dollars at the box office. That doesn't sound like so much compared to American films like "Fast and Furious 6," but the total brought in by "Aashiqui 2" is enough to make it the second-highest earning Hindi language film of 2013.
